Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager & CPA to lead our tax review process and take charge of technical issues, allowing our leadership to focus on strategic expansion and the acquisition of new CPA firms.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in tax and payroll reviews, and the ability to manage and resolve technical issues independently.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading Tax Reviews and Sign-Offs: Oversee, review, and sign off on tax returns for individuals, pass-through entities, small to medium-sized businesses, and non-profit organizations.
  • Independent Tax Return Submission: Prepare and submit tax returns efficiently, ensuring timely delivery to clients.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and addressing their needs promptly.
  • Manage Technical Issues: Handle complex technical tax issues independently, and provide guidance on adjustments and reconciliations to help clients maintain accurate financial records.
  • Communication with Government Agencies: Liaise with the IRS and other government entities on behalf of clients, and manage payroll processes and handle all communications with relevant agencies.
  • Support Firm Growth: Collaborate with the team to support the firm's expansion efforts, and contribute to a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Flexible Work Environment: Enjoy a hybrid remote work setup with occasional travel, and a full-time commitment during tax season and part-time flexibility during the summer months.

Qualifications:

  • CPA License: Must hold an active Certified Public Accountant license.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in tax and payroll reviews, and the ability to manage and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Client-Focused Approach: Proven experience in developing and strengthening customer relationships, and a dedication to providing exceptional service and building lasting client partnerships.
  • Proactive and Diligent: Willingness to take initiative and handle various responsibilities without constant oversight, and capable of making and handling calls with the IRS and government agencies.
