Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional support to our physicians and patients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication Liaison: Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate effective communication and resolve issues.
  • Access and Referral Support: Assist patients in accessing services within the health system, including referrals to specialists and other resources.
  • Facilitation and Coordination: Facilitate communication with referring physicians, ensure timely and accurate information exchange, and coordinate patient care.
  • Resource Navigation: Provide patients with information and resources to navigate the healthcare system, including access to community clinics and other support services.
Qualifications
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively integrate competing demands and priorities.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems, as well as proficiency in computer systems and software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty Knowledge: Possess knowledge of specific specialty practices and workflows, as well as working knowledge of patient-related policies and procedures.
  • System Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs, as well as knowledge of hospital computer systems and personal computer systems.
  • Authorization and Managed Care: Possess knowledge of authorization processes and managed care programs.
