Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and common rooms.
  • Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Carry toilet items and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, doors, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Building Maintenance Department.
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
  • Dust window blinds.
  • Observe all safety standards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a housekeeper, janitor, or porter in a residential building.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and how to properly use them.
  • Ability to use standard cleaning equipment within a residential building.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions

The Housekeeper will work in a residential environment, primarily responsible for cleaning common areas and waiting areas. The position requires exposure to outdoor climate and weather conditions.

Physical Demands

The Housekeeper must be able to stand for extended periods, walk and climb stairs, climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, stoop, and/or kneel. They must also be able to lift and/or move and/or carry up to 20 pounds in the work environment.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 3 years of experience working in the role of housekeeper, janitor, or porter for a residential building.
