Hotel Engineer II Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Hotel Engineer II to join our team at The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
  • Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Assure daily activities and problems are communicated to other shifts using approved communication programs.
  • Display proficiency in one of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
  • Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
  • Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and cleanup of painting or repair areas.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
  • Display working knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.
  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel MEP systems.
  • Display ability to train and mentor other engineers.
  • Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
