Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Direct and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), establishing strategic objectives that align with the organization’s mission. Ensure the PMO supports the overarching IT strategies.
  • Policy Formulation: Create and enforce PMO policies, processes, and methodologies to guarantee effective project execution. Standardize project management practices and documentation.
  • Project Supervision: Oversee the execution of multiple IT projects simultaneously, ensuring proper resource distribution, risk management, and quality assurance. Monitor project timelines and adjust strategies as necessary for successful outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and project teams to prioritize and implement projects that align with strategic goals. Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.
  • Team Development: Provide mentorship and direction to project managers and teams, fostering a culture of professional growth and best practices. Encourage a collaborative and high-performance environment within the PMO.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments and audits of project performance to ensure adherence to PMO standards and identify areas for enhancement. Implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the PMO budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effectiveness. Monitor financial metrics and pursue cost-reduction strategies when feasible.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, challenges, and risks to senior executives, including the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is essential.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in IT project and program management with a proven record of delivering complex projects within budget and timelines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies and standards (e.g., EVM, PMBOK, PMI, Agile, Lean).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a talent for motivating and guiding high-performance teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a capacity to influence at all organizational levels.
  • 10-15 years of experience in IT and business sectors, showcasing progressive responsibility and leadership roles.
  • At least 7 years in a managerial capacity, with 5 years overseeing significant IT projects.
  • Proven experience in establishing and managing a PMO within a large enterprise, focusing on strategic alignment and performance enhancement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of change management principles.
  • Experience in government or public sector environments.
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
