Job Title: Senior Archaeologist / Cultural Resources Manager

Overview: Sequence Systems is in search of a Senior Archaeologist/Cultural Resources Manager to spearhead and supervise the technical operations of our expanding environmental consulting division, which is currently engaged in numerous significant infrastructure initiatives.

About the Role: This position presents a unique opportunity within a prestigious organization. The leadership team is seeking a pivotal individual to enhance the firm’s capabilities, focusing primarily on in-office technical consulting, report generation, regulatory compliance, and managing client relationships.

While fieldwork responsibilities will exist, the role is predominantly centered on corporate management and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of cultural resource studies, including initiation, development, and completion of research.
  • Conduct field data collection and surveys, including Phase I & II Assessments and mitigation studies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide expert guidance on CEQA/NEPA documentation and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Lead a team in the execution of extensive infrastructure and public works projects, with a focus on collaboration with forest service and land management agencies.
  • Engage in budgeting, project scoping, business development, and marketing initiatives.
  • Mentor staff and foster a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in cultural resource management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • A degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Resources Management, or a related field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Archaeologist.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
