Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Architects in strategizing work and crafting solutions to intricate technical and design challenges.
- Collaborate with Project In Charge (PIC) and Project Managers (PM) to outline project work plans and oversee the production timeline, ensuring deadlines are clearly defined and met.
- Direct the development and adjustment of complex detailed implementation documents that reflect the design intent, utilizing extensive knowledge of architectural principles and advanced methodologies.
- Oversee code analysis and ensure compliance with zoning regulations for assigned project segments.
- Supervise the architectural team in document preparation, ensuring adherence to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards and best practices.
- Manage technical resolutions and project coordination.
- Draft reports or specifications pertinent to the assigned project.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, showcasing design concepts and drawings.
- Maintain open lines of communication with clients, providing guidance throughout the project phases.
- Coordinate with PMs, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors to integrate engineering systems, address requests for information, and secure necessary approvals.
- Engage with client representatives to confirm design specifications and conduct progress reviews.
- Participate in on-site visits, field assessments, and project meetings, documenting findings as required.
- Prepare and review meeting minutes for consultant coordination sessions.
- Foster a collaborative and professional working environment within the project team, promoting effective communication and approachability.
- Advocate for and incorporate the firm's principles of 'design excellence' through the integration of sustainable design practices with artistic design.
- Collaborate in managing projects to meet budgetary and scheduling requirements while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with defined budget constraints and maintain accountability to project plans.
- Support and potentially lead business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities and marketing to existing clients for repeat business.
- May lead the proposal preparation process and engage in contract negotiations regarding scope and fees.
- May participate in marketing interviews.
Qualifications:
- Accredited professional degree in Architecture.
- Architectural Registration is mandatory.
- Typically requires 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Sustainable design accreditation is preferred.
- Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling software is preferred.
- Experience with graphic software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite is preferred.
- Advanced understanding of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility standards, and QA/QC processes.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes and the ability to research and apply them in implementation documents.
- Strong presentation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lead teams with a diplomatic style that values relationships and collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $120k - $140k annually. The displayed estimate represents the general salary range for candidates in this role. Actual salary may vary based on factors such as internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
