Position Overview:
The Patient Support Representative acts as a vital link between TeamHealth affiliates, the National Patient Services Call Center, and the BasePointe Billing Center, addressing and investigating intricate client-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve complaints from Team Health Client Services. Manage account suspensions and reinstatements as directed by Team Health affiliates.
  • Address and research hospital-related complaints concerning patient billing and charges.
  • Conduct thorough account research within the system and request necessary medical records.
  • Submit researched accounts to Medical Coding for evaluation.
  • Forward accounts to the Medical Director after review by the Medical Coding Manager for complaints requiring clinical assessment.
  • Adjust accounts based on approvals from the Medical Coding Manager or Medical Director, in accordance with Team Health affiliates.
  • Coordinate with collection agencies to resolve billing and reimbursement issues.
  • Respond to client-related inquiries from the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs office.
  • Facilitate warm transfers for all business through the National Patient Services Call Center.
  • Process information from the NPSC and patient website.
  • Handle NPSC ETM tasks efficiently.
  • Manage incoming correspondence, including Letters of Dispute and insurance updates.
  • Communicate and follow up on all client complaints with the Client Services Manager.
  • Adhere to mandatory requirements as directed by the Client Services Manager.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Client Services Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in personal computer usage, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of IDX-BAR is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Education equivalent to completion of the 12th grade or a GED, with a minimum of 6 months experience in a medical billing environment, focusing on patient relations.
  • Willingness to travel to billing locations as necessary for resolving billing-related issues.

None

Physical and Environmental Demands:
This role may require manual dexterity and frequent use of computers, telephones, 10-key, calculators, and office machines (copier, scanner, fax). The ability to perform repetitive motions and meet production standards is essential. Physical and mental stamina may be required to work overtime or additional hours beyond a regular schedule.
