As a leading provider of automotive testing facilities, we offer a comprehensive suite of services to our clients in the automotive sector. Our clientele includes major automotive manufacturers and other original equipment suppliers, as well as participants from the global motorsports arena.

Our expertise spans a wide array of automotive testing environments, including climatic and driveability wind tunnels, aerodynamic and acoustic chambers, emissions testing rooms, and engine dynamometer facilities. We not only design and construct these facilities but also manage their operation and maintenance.

We are seeking a skilled engine lab test technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with engines and a solid understanding of automotive principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diverse gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer tests.
  • Assist in development, durability, and performance assessments within the engine dynamometer environment.
  • Gather, analyze, and validate data for precision and thoroughness, providing insights to engineering teams.
  • Construct basic fixtures and collaborate with Technologists, Product Engineers, and Supervisors on testing protocols and equipment updates.
  • Ensure calibration and upkeep of testing instruments and systems.
  • Install engines on dynamometers, connect instrumentation, troubleshoot issues, conduct tests, replace engine components as needed, and remove engines and instrumentation post-testing.

This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with 14 paid holidays and 17 days of paid time off. We also provide $5,000 annually for tuition reimbursement, and all necessary tools and personal protective equipment are supplied.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience or vocational training.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of engine and powertrain systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience in gasoline and diesel engine testing.
  • Experience with dynamometer testing for engines/powertrains or similar methodologies is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including engine components, 35% of the time.
  • Regularly required to sit (50%) and stand (50%), with bending (25%) and stooping (25%) as necessary.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily conducted indoors, with exposure to high noise levels from engine testing. Safety measures are essential due to the presence of rotating equipment and hot exhaust.

Attendance:

Regular attendance is crucial, with a standard schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Flexibility may be required to accommodate testing needs.

All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, health evaluation, and background check. Professional conduct and communication are expected at all times.
