We are recognized as the leading provider of automotive testing facilities, offering a comprehensive suite of services to clients in the commercial automotive sector. Our clientele encompasses major vehicle manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and participants from the global motorsports arena.
Our expertise spans a wide array of automotive testing facilities, including climatic and driveability wind tunnels, aerodynamic, acoustic, and thermodynamic wind tunnels, emissions testing rooms, soak rooms, altitude chambers, engine and powertrain testing cells, and electromagnetic anechoic chambers. We not only design and construct these facility systems but also manage, operate, and maintain them.
We are seeking a Fastener Test Technician for our testing laboratory. This position is an excellent ENTRY LEVEL opportunity for individuals with tool knowledge. Comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
The Fastener Test Technician is primarily responsible for conducting torque-to-failure tests on threaded fasteners to establish assembly torque specifications. This testing also verifies engineering joint designs and may aid in resolving assembly plant challenges. The technician collaborates with fastener engineers, design engineers, and fellow fastener test technicians. Note: This is not an engineering role.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation of components prior to testing
- Securing components in a vise or clamping them to a table
- Utilizing power tools for torque-to-failure or torque-plus-angle tests
- Analyzing torque-angle curves
- Performing manual torque wrench measurements for joint relaxation
- Documenting reports based on collected test data
Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on automotive experience or training is preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive systems, components, and assemblies.
- Proficiency in using wrenches, sockets, and electric nut runners.
- Experience in conducting tests, analyzing results, and writing reports.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of collaborative work.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or possess permanent residency status.

·Lifting: Up to 50 lbs. from knee to waist level, 25% of the time.

·Tools utilized: Basic hand tools, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, sockets, torque wrenches, tensile testers, air-driven sockets, 75% of the time.
Attendance Requirements:
Regular attendance is critical, with a standard work schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, and occasional overtime as needed. Flexibility to cover weekday testing may be required.
Other Essential Functions:
Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, health performance evaluation, PMHV physical, and background check. Professional behavior is expected at all times when interacting with customers, management, and colleagues. Clear and effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential. Appropriate grooming and attire are required to ensure safety and professionalism. Reliable personal transportation to the work site is necessary.
