Ford and SK On are committing substantial investments in Kentucky and Tennessee, which includes the establishment of three cutting-edge battery manufacturing facilities across the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These state-of-the-art facilities will leverage Ford's century-long automobile manufacturing expertise alongside SK On's extensive experience in electric vehicle battery production to emerge as the leading battery manufacturer globally.

The Facilities and Utilities Operations Supervisor at BlueOval SK presents a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the start-up team, launching the facility from its inception.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the annual maintenance and repair strategy along with the associated budget.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, secure, and optimal condition.
  • Initiate renovation requests and manage purchase orders.
  • Oversee performance related to facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Establish and manage the annual investment strategy and budget.
  • Evaluate facility investment methodologies.
  • Review construction plans and implement necessary modifications.
  • Draft specifications for new constructions and prepare construction documents for public distribution.
  • Solicit quotations for new facilities and manage construction purchase orders.
  • Monitor investment performance of the facility.
  • Address facility repair requests as received through the system.
  • Revise and manage the facility operation manual.
  • Conduct regular inspections (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly) of the facility.
  • Investigate causes of facility irregularities and assess technology.
  • Compile reports on irregularities to maintain historical records.
  • Strategize to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage utility systems (air, water supply, etc.).
  • Analyze energy consumption trends for each piece of equipment.
  • Identify potential energy-saving opportunities by equipment.
  • Oversee monthly energy-saving performance metrics.
  • Conduct and supervise operational safety inspections.
  • Create and maintain documentation required by PSM / ISO standards.
  • Implement corrective actions to enhance facility compliance with PSM / ISO.
  • Supervise mechanical facility construction activities.
  • Guide and mentor team members.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment to ensure team success.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to quickly analyze and resolve issues through root cause analysis, driving improvements in production departments.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to maintaining plant processes.
  • Proven ability to achieve results while managing multiple priorities.
  • Capacity to serve as a confident technical mentor to both hourly and salaried staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to support any shift within a 7-day work schedule.
  • Flexibility for significant travel during the initial plant start-up phase.
  • Willingness to work remotely and on-site at temporary facilities as required during the initial start-up phase.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with utility equipment is advantageous.
  • Certifications related to gas boilers and NMP are preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
