About the Role

As a Performance Engineering Specialist, you will engage in the calibration and control development of powertrain systems for both competitive and consumer racing vehicles. This role will immerse you in a dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to work on high-performance vehicles, both on and off the track.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct calibration and control development for gasoline engines tailored for racing applications.
  • Support hardware selection and engine mapping on dynamometers and racetracks using various engine control systems.
  • Develop simulation frameworks for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), Software-in-the-Loop (SiL), and Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) testing.
  • Assist in track testing as necessary to validate performance metrics.
  • Modify existing control strategies to enhance vehicle characteristics as required.
  • Innovate new technologies within the regulations set by racing authorities.
Your Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in simulation and programming using MATLAB & Simulink, alongside development and validation of control algorithms.
  • A passion for motorsports, with a competitive spirit and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work alongside various suppliers in a fast-paced setting.
  • A detail-oriented mindset, with the capability to independently tackle problems.
  • Eligibility for international travel, as this role may require it.
Preferred Skills

While not mandatory, the following experiences will be advantageous:

  • Familiarity with AVL Puma, AVL Concerto, and AVL Indicom.
  • Experience with Bosch Motorsport, MoTeC, and Cosworth systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, MATLAB, or VBA.
  • Participation in Formula SAE or similar programs.
