Position Overview
The Chief Engineer for Hybrid Systems will lead the technical and commercial development of electrified powertrains across multiple applications. This role involves:

  • Formulating and executing commercial strategies to uncover new business opportunities for Roush's hybrid products and services.
  • Assessing internal capabilities and identifying areas for enhancement in personnel and tools.
  • Providing leadership in optimizing hybrid system performance through cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Establishing a comprehensive design review process to ensure achievement of system-level targets, including cost, quality, and performance.
  • Guiding program engineers in leading design reviews and implementing actionable plans.
  • Overseeing the development of robust requirements for hybrid powertrain systems.

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in systems, electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in propulsion system engineering, including at least 4 years in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion systems.
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience managing both simple and complex technical projects.
  • Proven financial management skills in areas such as BOM cost management and project cost oversight.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives regarding product and business planning.
  • U.S. citizenship for compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will also have:

  • A Master's or PhD in applied engineering or systems engineering.
  • Published research or patents in the field of hybrid powertrains.
  • Experience in complex multi-variable analysis related to hybrid powertrain applications.
