Job Title: VP, Government Relations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of Government Relations to join our team at PsiQuantum. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our government relations strategy, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and representing our company before Congressional and Executive Branch officials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy to advance our company's interests and goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress, their staff, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective advocacy and support.
  • Represent our company before Congressional and Executive Branch officials, providing expert advice and guidance on policy and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business development, engineering, and operations teams, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Congressional authorization and appropriations process, as well as the Department of Defense's research and development priorities.
  • Identify and leverage key relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within the Department of Defense to advance our company's interests.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a Congressional Committee or Member office.
  • Experience in the technical, programmatic, and operational challenges of developing, deploying, and sustaining complex technologies, hardware, and software.
  • Deep understanding of the Congressional authorization and appropriations process and the ability to effectively advocate for an initiative within the Committee structure.
  • Ability to identify, establish, and leverage key relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within the Department of Defense.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Defense Research Labs, Research & Engineering Offices, Program Executive Offices, Major Defense Acquisition Programs, and other stakeholder organizations across the Department of Defense.
  • Understanding of and experience navigating the Defense Acquisition Process and the ability to inform the process of our leading-edge solutions and hardware.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers; ability to translate complex topics, convince, and inspire through the written and spoken word.
  • Capable of succeeding in a fast-paced, ambiguous, dynamic, and creative environment.
  • Ability to travel required.
  • Must be based out of the Washington, DC area.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degrees in STEM a plus.
  • Demonstrated performance leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational resources.
  • Understanding of physics and quantum technologies.
