Job Summary

As a Building Engineer at CBRE, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations, including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, supporting preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operation is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Coordinate and inspect the work performed by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning.
  • Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance, complete maintenance and repair records, and review assigned work orders.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems most efficiently to keep operating costs at a minimum and maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and the ability to use personal computer and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training.
  • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Work Environment

This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, supporting preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and systems. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.
