Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate III to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will assist with and conduct lab-based research in the Champagne Lab, conducting benchwork laboratory procedures involving extraction and QC analyses of DNA/RNA, assisting with molecular hormonal and neurobiological analyses, lab organization, ordering supplies and maintaining lab safety protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct wet lab work, including tissue extraction, DNA/RNA extraction, and histology
  • Manage lab personnel and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Coordinate research projects and ensure timely completion
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, plus at least 2 years of wet lab research experience in behavioral neuroscience or a related field
  • Experience with tissue dissection and rodent brain anatomy
  • Molecular lab experience, including RNA/DNA extraction
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in the use of R programming language
  • Lab management experience
  • Experience working with laboratory rodents
