Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Actalent. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage incoming patients by obtaining vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing patients for visits.
- Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, restock clinical areas, and maintain medical equipment.
- Document interventions in the electronic medical record, review charts for completeness, and test results.
- Scan upcoming appointments for additional medical record information and obtain records from other physician offices, hospitals, labs, emergency rooms, and radiology.
- Complete all assigned tasks, including responding to patient messages, prescription refills, lab results, referrals, and follow-ups from physicians.
- Ensure all tasks are reviewed, addressed, and marked appropriately before the close of each business day.
- Administer and collect patient satisfaction surveys, contact patients between visits to assess medical status and medication adherence.
- Follow protocols related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration REQUIRED
- Triage Experience/ Taking Vitals
- BLS certified
- Attention to Detail
- Effective Communication
- Time Management
Work Environment:
This is a fully on-site position in Portsmouth, Virginia. The work environment is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
