Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Residency Business Administrator to oversee business operations within the Fairfax Residency. This role involves managing daily financial, procurement, inventory, and budgeting functions while ensuring adherence to best practices in agency operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Oversee data entry and monitor staff performance in inventory management systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies.
- SWAM Compliance: Support the agency's procurement goals by adhering to Executive Orders and ensuring vendor sourcing aligns with the SWAM Procurement Plan.
- Budget Development: Assist in the formulation of administrative and financial budgets, providing support to residency maintenance staff as necessary.
- Emergency Operations Coordination: Manage business support operations during emergencies, ensuring timely data entry and compliance with operational protocols.
- Financial Oversight: Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and timely billing.
- Procurement Management: Ensure compliance with procurement policies across the residency, standardizing processes and monitoring resource usage.
- Staff Supervision: Provide leadership and training to administrative staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and budget administration.
- Experience in supervising teams and managing projects.
- Proficiency in financial software applications.
Additional Considerations
- Preferred experience in Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Familiarity with state budgeting practices.
- Experience in public sector environments or engineering organizations.
