Job Title: Assistant Middle and High School Wrestling Coach

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Coach in organizing practice plans and strategies for opponents.
  • Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and performance.
  • Run skill-building drills to emphasize the fundamentals of wrestling.
  • Develop and implement player development programs for team members.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, storage, and care of team equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for athletes during practice and games.
  • Follow the care plan of the Athletic Trainer for injured student-athletes.
  • Maintain current health care certifications (First Aid, CPR/AED).
  • Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to players before the season and collect them at the end of the season.
  • Assist in transporting the team to games.
  • Maintain appropriate conduct toward students, officials, and spectators.
  • Exhibit non-discriminatory practices in all team and school activities.
  • Attend staff meetings when called by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of three years of coaching experience on the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
  • Completed PIAA coaching education requirements at the time of hire.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with student-athletes, administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Required certifications: FBI fingerprint check, PA child abuse history clearance, PA criminal background check, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Working Conditions:
  • In-season: Coaches are expected to be available for two hours per day, Monday-Friday, for practice, and Saturday if necessary.
  • Off-season: Coaches are expected to hold workouts during the off-season with approval from the Athletic Director.
