Field Service Technician I

This role involves executing fundamental maintenance tasks on gas compression systems under close supervision. Responsibilities include learning from and aiding experienced technicians in servicing, diagnosing, installing, and commissioning compressor systems. The Field Service Technician I position is designed to develop skills for advancement to the Field Service Technician II level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional customer service in line with company principles
  • Completing accurate field service documentation and necessary reports on a daily basis
  • Assisting in identifying engine/compressor malfunctions
  • Supporting timely repairs and overhauls of compressors and engines in challenging environments
  • Addressing recurring issues and providing emergency services as required
  • Installing new systems, including commissioning and start-up evaluations
  • Aiding in mechanical inspections utilizing specialized tools
  • Being available for travel on short notice and participating in on-call rotations for urgent repairs
  • Contributing to job planning and requirements
  • Adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies
  • Performing other assigned tasks as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with vocational/technical training preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Certification from CAT/Waukesha or equivalent is required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment assessments
  • Valid driver's license is mandatory
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills
  • Necessary tools for the trade
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software
  • Capability to interpret technical manuals and execute maintenance duties

Physical Requirements

Physical Demands: The employee must utilize hands, reach, walk, and lift weights following proper techniques

Work Environment: Exposure to mechanical components and varying weather conditions
