Job Overview

Reports To: Banquet Manager or Assistant Banquet Manager

Supervises: N/A

Purpose of the Role: To prepare banquet tables with linens, place settings, and centerpieces; serve food and beverages to guests, and efficiently clear tables and linens while adhering to company standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare all banquet tables with appropriate linens, china, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces, along with beverage stations and perishable items for service.
  2. Deliver food and beverages to guests attending the banquet.
  3. Remove all dishes and items used during the banquet service, including linens.
  4. Ensure proper storage of all items, from equipment to perishable food items.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
  6. Assist in preparing for upcoming banquets by folding napkins, refilling condiments, and completing other necessary tasks.
  7. Provide coverage for other staff members during breaks.
  8. Proactively greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  1. Ability to perform arithmetic for cost calculations and change-making.
  2. Effective communication skills to interact with diverse individuals and understand their service needs.
  3. Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  4. Dexterity to handle items such as dishes, money, and merchandise efficiently.
  5. Physical strength to lift and carry heavy trays.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in guest service and/or as a server.

Certifications:

  • Responsible alcohol service and food safety certification.
