Overview:
The successful candidate will possess a strong inclination towards enhancing operational workflows and a commitment to spearheading innovative projects.

Key Objectives:

  • Assess and analyze current systems and workflows, pinpointing both value-adding and non-value-adding tasks to address design obstacles.
  • Innovate, design, test, and develop creative solutions aligned with analytical insights and organizational goals.
  • Investigate and assess both new and existing methodologies, tools, and materials to inform scheduling techniques, performance indicators, and financial benchmarks.
  • Enhance Valcor's standing by delivering creative solutions while adhering to corporate, federal, and state regulations.
  • Facilitate employee training for productivity enhancement initiatives and mentor fellow engineers and technicians.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Apply principles of mathematics, science, and engineering to optimize processes.
  • Identify opportunities to mitigate waste and inefficiencies in production.

Research and Development:

  • Conduct research and evaluate design concepts to assess feasibility, employing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to support innovation, corrective measures, and ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Design and develop robust manufacturing strategies to enhance and simplify production processes, ensuring best practices through structural and thermal evaluations of components and assemblies, prototype construction, performance assessment, issue identification, and enhancement.
  • Generate and maintain essential manufacturing process documentation, including process flow diagrams, capacity and utilization assessments, time and motion analyses, standard operating procedures, cycle time evaluations, and line balancing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gather insights and direction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Practical experience in constructing small prototypes.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process optimization.
  • Ability to engage with program management, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional teams; provide daily guidance and support to junior staff and management.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, including Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with EPICOR.
