Position Summary:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) will oversee a designated territory for the assigned asset. This role involves building and sustaining essential scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the territory, acting as a scientific authority to the medical community, and promoting the effective exchange of scientific knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with KOLs across various specialties, engaging with them in academic institutions and community practices at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Act as a scientific resource for the medical community, facilitating the appropriate sharing of scientific insights.
  • Relay expert opinions and feedback on emerging data and clinical trends to Medical Affairs, translating this information into strategic recommendations to enhance scientific understanding and improve patient care.
  • Serve as the primary contact for investigators interested in conducting investigator-initiated research.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Operations to boost patient enrollment in company-sponsored clinical trials by identifying suitable clinical trial sites and enhancing clinical trial awareness.
  • Provide scientific leadership at medical congresses, participate in disease state booths, and facilitate medical discussions at advisory boards and scientific/medical advisory faculty programs.
  • Lead project teams that support MSL strategies as directed by MSL leadership.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: An advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience is required (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP preferred, or Advanced Practice Degree, NP, PA, RPh, or MSN/RN with oncology experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years of MSL experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience in oncology, neurosciences, or rare diseases is preferred.
  • Proven ability to effectively present clinical and scientific information.
  • Expertise in business software, including Veeva CRM or similar tools, Adobe Professional, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to comprehend, evaluate, and communicate complex technical concepts and technologies.
  • Familiarity with OIG compliance guidelines for pharmaceutical manufacturers.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors in a remote hybrid work environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays as required by business needs.

  • A valid driver's license is required and must be in good standing.
  • This position requires working East Coast hours.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this role is $167,000 to $220,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
