As a licensed teacher with a passion for social studies, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality instruction that produces unmatched results and student understanding.

About the Role

This full-time position reports to the Principal and requires a commitment to working with educationally underserved students. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a college-preparatory culture that assists our students on their journey to and through college.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and tailored to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Establish a classroom environment that fosters learning and developmentally appropriate for students.
  • Employ diverse instructional techniques and media consistent with best practices, content knowledge, and student needs.
  • Implement the school's philosophy of education, curriculum, and instructional goals and objectives.
  • Utilize diagnostic assessment tools to identify learning strengths and needs of students for intervention and acceleration.
Requirements
  • Active Tennessee state licensure and certification matching subject area and grade band.
  • Commitment to working with educationally underserved students.
  • Commitment to the design and development of the school.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two years of teaching experience.
  • Master's in Education or a related field.
  • Experience in content area or Highly Qualified status.
