Job Title: Reactor Engineer

System One is seeking a skilled Reactor Engineer to support our client in Bellevue, WA. This is a remote, long-term contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Core Design and Reactor Engineers to develop technical specifications, COLR, Reactivity Management Program, SNM Tracking Program, and Estimated Critical Position Methodology Support.
  • Assist Core Design and Methods in advancing the design with a focus on reactor operation and testing.
  • Work with Operations and Core Design to create procedures for plant operation.
  • Support the development of computational tools for reactor operators.
Ideal Background:
  • B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with nuclear analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic nuclear reactor design concepts and ability to quickly learn and apply them.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in core design and analysis, including fuel management optimization, reactivity coefficients, shielding and activation, control rod worth, and uncertainty analysis.
  • Interfacing with Operations and Reactor Engineers.
  • Strong computational expertise and experience with nuclear engineering software.
  • Good working knowledge of nuclear and/or general numerical methods.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within published regulatory guidelines for nuclear reactor design.
