Key Responsibilities:- Perform calculation and optimization of fuel management strategies, reactivity coefficients, control rod worth, and shutdown margin.
- Develop neutronics models of advanced reactor systems with complex geometry.
- Configure and augment existing neutronics analysis software for new constraints, assumptions, or control algorithms.
- Establish and maintain documentation of analysis results and neutronic design solutions.
- Contribute to early design efforts of commercial applications of MCFR technology.
- B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with nuclear analysis preferred.
- Knowledgeable or highly motivated to quickly learn basic nuclear reactor design concepts.
- Experience in core design and analysis, including fuel cycle analysis, radiation damage rate calculation, reactivity coefficients calculation, and control rod worth calculation.
- Experience with nuclear engineering software such as ARMI, MCNP, Serpent, OpenMC, Attila, SCALE, DIF3D, GRIFFIN, PROTEUS, MC2, PARTISN, PARCS, APA, CASMO, DRAGON, etc.
- Strong programming skills in any language, with bonus points for Python, C++, Git, and Github experience.
- Experience with CAD (Solidworks, Creo, etc.) and generation of unstructured meshes preferred.
- Experience working in NQA-1 environments desired.
