**Job Summary**

System One Holdings, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in a long-term contract opportunity with a remote work model. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and reviewing solutions for various reactor structures and components for advanced nuclear reactor design.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Design and develop reactor structures and components from requirements through final design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and requirements, and produce design solutions that meet project objectives.
  • Perform scoping analysis and calculations to evaluate design options and identify the most suitable solutions.
  • Interface with engineering analysis activities to ensure accurate and reliable design results.
  • Present design results to stakeholders and lead design reviews to assess the technical merit of solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and subcontractors, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and identify opportunities for process improvement to maintain the highest quality of engineering design.

**Ideal Candidate**

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in equipment/component design, with relevant Master's degree credited as two years of experience.
  • Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.
  • Experience writing design specifications and applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in finite element stress analysis and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools, such as ANSYS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • High degree of trust, integrity, and a strong desire to foster teamwork and collaboration.
