Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a leading healthcare provider, offering a comprehensive range of services including inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and emergency care. Our team of over 700 healthcare professionals is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and exceeding the expectations of our community.

As a key member of our leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) plays a critical role in driving the hospital's day-to-day activities, including revenue growth, expense management, and financial goal achievement. The COO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for overseeing the operations of all departments, except for Nursing.

The COO will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating facility and program planning, budget preparation, and hospital policy formulation
  • Representing the hospital at professional, civic, and governmental organizations and meetings
  • Partnering with physicians to recruit and retain top talent
  • Working with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure regulatory compliance and quality accreditations
  • Creating an environment that fosters employee recruitment and retention
  • Analyzing areas for performance improvement and implementing organizational-wide initiatives
  • Assisting in planning new services to generate additional revenue
  • Managing costs by identifying opportunities to eliminate non-value added expenses

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, as well as a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or an MBA with a healthcare emphasis. A minimum of 4 years of recent hospital experience managing multiple departments in an acute care facility is required, with experience in physician relations or recruitment preferred.

The COO must be proficient in written and verbal communication skills, able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, hospital staff, and community members. Confidentiality is essential, as the COO will have access to sensitive information. The successful candidate will have knowledge of technical and professional skills management, general principles of human resource management, labor relations, and hospital economics.
