Job Summary

The Magnet Program Director plays a pivotal role in promoting, developing, and fostering innovation and excellence in nursing practice throughout St. David's Medical Center. This clinical leader oversees and coordinates the Magnet Program, ensuring that Magnet principles are hardwired into the organization through education, consultation, and coordination with leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the Magnet Program, ensuring timely submission of documents, site visits, interim reports, NDNQI database management, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with leadership to embed the professional practice model into clinical practice, foster shared governance, and mentor clinical staff in leadership skills.
  • Develop and implement processes that foster innovation and excellence in clinical nursing practice.
  • Provide education on new processes and standards of practice.
  • Serve as liaison between leadership, outside certifying organizations, staff, physicians, and the community.
  • Design and maintain PI processes specific to systems and oversee the collection and analysis of PI data related to NDNQI data.
Requirements
  • 5 years of nursing experience, with a focus on developing, implementing, and evaluating new programs and processes.
  • Prior management or project management experience is required.
  • Previous experience in Magnet-accredited organizations or the Magnet accreditation process is highly desirable.
  • Experience in research translation and evidence-based nursing practice is essential.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Registered Nurse licensure and a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing are necessary.
