The Lead Mitigation Technician is responsible for overseeing and inspecting restoration tasks to guarantee the successful completion of drying, demolition, and various restoration services. This role involves preparing and reviewing documentation, including notes and photographs, in accordance with company policies. The technician will also explain the restoration process to clients upon arrival at the job site and supervise assigned technicians to ensure safety and operational standards are upheld during ongoing projects.
Job Responsibilities- Demonstrate knowledge of the disaster restoration sector.
- Retrieve work orders and ensure that the necessary equipment and supplies are loaded onto the vehicle for the job.
- Execute assigned tasks following company protocols and carrier standards, maintaining quality control while managing the assigned technicians.
- Conduct daily monitoring and necessary activities on all active jobs for both residential and commercial clients with a sense of urgency.
- Communicate the processes utilized to complete active jobs and outline next steps to resolution to customers in person, using printed materials as a reference.
- Engage with adjusters in person, via phone, and virtually to address issues and answer inquiries regarding the loss.
- Complete sketches and scope sheets for estimates, and maintain drying records using mobile applications.
- Inspect completed jobs, obtain customer approvals through signatures, and request payments when necessary.
- Address customer concerns, and relay issues and daily job activities to key company personnel.
- Prepare and review documentation, including notes and photographs, ensuring customer signatures are obtained according to company policies to facilitate reimbursement from insurance providers.
- May provide training to new technicians or key operational team members.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all active jobs.
- Possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving and customer service abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience with data entry using tablets or mobile devices.
- Report to work punctually in a clean and complete uniform.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exemplify customer service expectations with homeowners, adjusters, and vendors.
- Knowledge of the disaster restoration or construction industry.
- Proficient in using mobile software for data entry.
- Experience with Xactimate is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in training and managing personnel.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Communicate customer issues and job activities with key company staff.
- Certifications are preferred but not required: ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician, FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician, OCT – Odor Control Technician, WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician.
The incumbent must be prepared to:
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 70 pounds frequently, through lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning.
- Stand and walk for extended periods, with lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching required.
- Effectively express or exchange ideas with others and act on detailed information provided.
- For safety reasons, ensure that respirators used in certain situations fit securely.
- Be exposed to various indoor and outdoor working conditions, including changes in environment with or without air conditioning and heating.
