We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care/Medication Technician to join our team at Preston Greens Senior Living. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on care and physical support to residents, maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Observe, report, and document changes in resident conditions, including skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, and participation in activities.
  • Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells, and notify supervisors and/or Health Care Coordinators of increased care needs.
  • Assist with continence management, serve and collect food trays, and maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
  • Practice good standard care precautions, including cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
  • Help residents maintain independence, promote dignity, and physical safety.
  • Participate in and lead activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, and eating.
  • Engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors, and team members.
Medication Tech Duties:
  • Review service plans to learn pertinent information about residents.
  • Assist and observe medications and treatments for each resident, using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
  • Document and initial forms as medications are given, including documentation for refusal or missed doses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, including resident medication.
  • Report resident concerns to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator.
  • Restock medication carts after medication passes, and assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
  • Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift, and maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, and treatment carts.
  • Follow re-fill process for medications, and participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
  • Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates, and report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
