Preston Greens Senior Living Job Description

TerraBella Senior Living is a leading provider of senior living and care services, operating over 30 communities across the Carolinas, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee.

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care/Medication Technician to join our team at Preston Greens Senior Living.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on care and physical support to residents, maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Observe, report, and document resident symptoms and conditions, including changes in skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, and participation in activities.
  • Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells, and notify supervisors and/or Health Care Coordinators of increased care needs.
  • Assist with continence management, dispose of continence products properly, and maintain cleanliness of resident suites and community restrooms.
  • Serve and collect food trays, report meal refusals or loss of appetite, and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Practice good standard care precautions, promote resident independence, dignity, and physical safety.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, engage in life skills and enrichment activities, and greet and assist internal and external customers.
  • Perform resident laundry as assigned and needed.
Medication Tech Duties:
  • Review service plans to learn pertinent resident information.
  • Assist and observe medications and treatments, using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
  • Document and initial forms as medications are given, including documentation for refusal or missed doses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication, and report concerns to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator.
  • Restock medication carts, assist in checking medication, and count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
  • Maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts, and follow the re-fill process for medications.
  • Participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
  • Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates, and report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
