Position Overview:

We are currently collaborating with a client in the engineering sector seeking a skilled Senior Civil Engineer. This role is pivotal in delivering advanced engineering and technical guidance on civil engineering design initiatives, particularly for electrical substations and transmission line right-of-way projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and validate design criteria for projects.
  • Finalize and approve design models.
  • Coordinate project timelines for the support team.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings with clients.
  • Conduct design review sessions with clients.
  • Mentor and train junior engineering staff.
  • Provide expert advice on specialized design inquiries.
  • Engage in internal design review discussions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mandatory)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification (mandatory)
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in consulting or electric utility sectors (mandatory)
  • Experience in project management.
  • Understanding of project scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in civil design related to electrical substations and switchyards, including site grading, drainage analysis, and structural design.
  • Familiarity with design software and codes (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, stormwater analysis tools).
  • Ability to evaluate engineering and design challenges effectively.
  • Innovative mindset for proposing enhancements within the civil engineering domain.
  • Commitment to safety regulations and practices.
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders in transmission, substation, and construction sectors.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative approach to working with peers and clients.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and expertise.
  • Capability to identify and apply relevant metrics to projects and client needs.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking in engineering solutions.
