Position Overview:

The Senior Site Development Engineer will play a crucial role within the Civil/Site design team, overseeing various elements of land development initiatives. This includes site feasibility assessments, conceptual planning, stormwater management, grading, drainage, utility design, and erosion control. The role also encompasses conducting permitting research, performing due diligence, and drafting specifications and reports. The Senior Engineer will utilize AutoCAD and collaborate closely with design team managers to ensure successful project completion within set budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing construction drawings, plans, and project specifications.
  • Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, grading plans, street enhancements, utility designs, and related specifications.
  • Ensuring technical precision, adherence to standard engineering practices, and inclusion of necessary documentation in various plans, reports, and design documents.
  • Identifying challenges, evaluating alternatives, and proposing solutions to colleagues and management.
  • Collaborating with team members and management as needed to complete tasks.
  • Assisting in basic stormwater calculations and reporting.
  • Compiling and organizing civil engineering plans and reports.
  • Providing engineering and technical support to other departments as required.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in site/civil land development or equivalent experience.
  • EIT and/or PE certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with local land use processes and regulations.
  • Proficient in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development designs.
  • Demonstrated skills in Civil 3D with the capability to design site layouts from concept to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail coupled with strong analytical and judgment skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
