We are currently partnering with a prominent engineering firm seeking a proficient Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team. This opportunity is primarily located in the Tampa Bay area, with additional openings in the surrounding regions.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be tasked with delivering expert engineering solutions for civil design projects, particularly those associated with electrical substations and transmission line right-of-way initiatives.

Your role will encompass overseeing, preparing, reviewing, and advising on various aspects including site layout, grading design, retaining wall construction, stormwater management, permitting processes, containment structure design, survey coordination, and support for civil construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and approving design standards
  • Finalizing engineering models
  • Coordinating project timelines for the support team
  • Engaging in stakeholder meetings with clients
  • Facilitating design review sessions with clients
  • Providing mentorship and training to junior engineering staff
  • Contributing to specialized design inquiries
  • Participating in internal design review discussions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
  • 8+ years of pertinent engineering experience in consulting or electric utility sectors (required)
  • Experience in project management
  • Proficient in managing project scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Technical knowledge in civil design for electrical substations and switchyards
  • Familiarity with design software and codes such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Innovative problem-solving skills in engineering
  • Adept at thriving in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting
