POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Engagement Officer for Make-A-Wish Utah is tasked with fostering partnerships and nurturing connections within the community to generate financial support for the organization's mission.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Oversee and expand a dynamic portfolio of corporate and individual supporters and prospects.


• Cultivate corporate sponsorships through various avenues, including corporate grants, cause marketing initiatives, and workplace giving programs.


• Collaborate with the Development Director and CEO to implement a moves management approach for identifying, researching, and qualifying potential partnership opportunities.


• Leverage the support of Mission Champions to enhance relationship-building efforts.


• Design and execute Cause Marketing campaigns while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.


• Create innovative pitch strategies and presentation materials for potential partners.


• Formulate strategies that align with the organization's experience-based fundraising model.


• Ensure prompt acknowledgment of donor contributions and the execution of a stewardship plan.


• Manage the activities of the Advisory Council to bolster financial support from the community.


• Utilize Salesforce as the primary tool for relationship management and tracking activities.


• Represent Make-A-Wish Utah at community gatherings, networking events, and chamber meetings.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.


• Availability for occasional weekend and evening work is required.

QUALIFICATIONS


• A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline, such as Marketing, Business, or Nonprofit Leadership.


• A minimum of four years of experience in developing meaningful funding relationships through relationship-based fundraising, account management, marketing, or sales.


• Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.


• Ability to connect with diverse audiences, including volunteers, board members, and partners.


• Familiarity with Salesforce or fundraising-specific CRM software is advantageous.

Make-A-Wish Utah is dedicated to granting transformative wishes for children facing critical health challenges, providing joy and healing to both the children who receive wishes and those involved in the wish-granting process. Research indicates that children who have their wishes fulfilled develop the emotional and physical resilience necessary to combat serious illnesses, enhancing their quality of life and leading to improved health outcomes.

Established in 1985, Make-A-Wish Utah serves over 240 children aged 2 1⁄2 to 18 each year. The organization boasts a dedicated board, passionate medical advisors, and a vast network of over 200 volunteers statewide. To date, Make-A-Wish Utah has granted over 4,600 wishes and remains committed to its goal of fulfilling the wishes of every eligible child within its service area. As an independent chapter of Make-A-Wish America, Make-A-Wish Utah is recognized nationally for its excellence in fundraising, innovation, and program delivery.
