This role involves managing a diverse range of control system projects. The individual will be capable of overseeing multiple project-related tasks and/or complex large-scale projects from inception to completion. Engineering support will be provided on projects led by others, while taking full responsibility for assigned projects and tasks. Guidance will be sought from project leads, supervisors, and company leadership.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by relevant technical experience. Typically, candidates should have 7+ years of overall experience, with a proven track record of at least 3 years as a Control Systems Project Engineer I or an equivalent role.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Duties:
- Lead, train, and mentor colleagues during system start-up and commissioning.
- Proficient in interpreting piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring schematics, providing feedback on field conditions versus drawings.
- Experienced with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
- Expert in the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and capable of guiding others.
- Strong understanding of complex control system design and able to independently create intricate control systems.
- Provide instrumentation specifications for advanced control systems and value engineer specifications for cost-effective solutions.
Oversee the detailed design of Information Technology (IT) systems, network infrastructure, and computer system designs related to control system integration.
Customer Engagement:
- Communicate effectively and proactively with clients.
- Adhere to customer-specific site standards and procedures.
- Conduct business in a professional manner, providing exceptional customer care and support.
- Be attentive and responsive to customer needs, ensuring follow-up and honoring commitments.
- Understand customer requirements and actively seek to meet those needs.
Project Management:
- Complete assigned tasks accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Lead individual project-related tasks and/or small to mid-sized projects.
- Assume ultimate responsibility for the successful completion of projects or tasks, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Act as the primary contact for customers on assigned projects.
- Identify changes in project scope and provide support on other projects led by others.
- Manage and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring team adherence to realistic schedules and budgets.
- Anticipate customer needs and accurately estimate task durations and difficulties.
- Identify and manage potential risks.
Supervisory Duties:
Where applicable, oversee junior or subordinate staff members regarding construction, operations, and maintenance tasks at project sites.

In addition to the skills required for Control Systems Project Engineer II:

- Commit to further developing technical and leadership skills.
- Overnight travel may be required up to 50%.
On Call Requirements:
Participation in on-call rotation may be necessary based on location and client needs.
Work Authorization/Other Requirements:
Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required. Maintain a valid driver's license and be fit for duty at all times.
