Job Summary:

The Banquet Bartender provides timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for each guest. This role is perfect for individuals who love saying YES and enjoy engaging with the community by leading with exceptional customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows all steps of service to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Provides superior service behind the bar by preparing drinks according to recipe standards and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Knows drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes to provide expert recommendations.
  • Knows all wines by the glass and at least 5 wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles to cater to diverse tastes.
  • Knows specialty beverages, i.e. single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, beer list to offer unique options.
  • Knows all menu descriptions of bar menu and dining room menu to provide informed recommendations.
  • Ensures all stock is up to par levels to maintain a well-stocked bar.
  • Completes daily inventory and informs servers/managers/bar back of any changes to ensure seamless operations.
  • Verifies all guests are at least 21 years of age to ensure responsible service.
  • Provides prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift to maintain accurate records.
  • Sells beverages responsibly with customer's best interest in mind to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Maintains smooth flow of service between bar and server requests to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Completes all sidework as outlined in manual to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift to ensure timely service.
  • Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the restaurant service area to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Assists with/executes any and all tasks as assigned by supervisor to ensure seamless operations.
  • Follows all proper sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends) to accommodate guest needs.
  • Responsible, dependable, punctual to ensure timely service.
  • Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read and understand English to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Clean and professional appearance to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c to embody the company culture.
  • Exhibits strong beverage knowledge to provide expert recommendations.
  • Must pass a background check to ensure a safe and secure environment.
