Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team at 21c Museum Hotels. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and preparing high-quality beverages for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follows all steps of service to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Provides superior service behind the bar by preparing drinks according to recipe standards and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Knows drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes to ensure accurate and efficient service.
  • Knows all wines by the glass and at least 5 wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles to make informed recommendations to guests.
  • Knows specialty beverages, i.e. single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, beer list, to cater to diverse guest preferences.
  • Knows all menu descriptions of bar menu and dining room menu to effectively communicate with guests and servers.
  • Ensures all stock is up to par levels to maintain a well-stocked bar and minimize waste.
  • Completes daily inventory and informs servers/managers/bar back of any changes to ensure accurate tracking and ordering.
  • Verifies all guests are at least 21 years of age to ensure responsible service.
  • Provides prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Sells beverages responsibly with customer's best interest in mind to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Maintains smooth flow of service between bar and server requests to ensure seamless guest experience.
  • Completes all sidework as outlined in manual to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shift to ensure timely service.
  • Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the restaurant service area to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Assists with/executes any and all tasks as assigned by supervisor to ensure efficient service.
  • Follows all proper sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends) to accommodate guest demand.
  • Responsible, dependable, punctual to ensure timely service.
  • Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read and understand English to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Clean and professional appearance to maintain a positive guest experience.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Exhibits strong beverage knowledge to make informed recommendations to guests.
  • Must pass a background check to ensure a safe and secure environment.
