Key Responsibilities:

The Environmental & Waste Professional will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations at BWX Technologies. The responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing environmental engineering and waste management strategies that adhere to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conducting waste characterization, packaging, storage, and disposal in line with applicable guidelines.
  • Preparing sampling and analysis plans following established protocols.
  • Analyzing laboratory data to determine material disposal requirements according to relevant regulations.
  • Collaborating with clients to align BWX's environmental objectives with their waste management needs.
  • Identifying and resolving technical challenges related to environmental and waste management practices.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field accompanied by four years of pertinent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster effective relationships with clients and team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, with no dual citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.
  • Compliance with radiological controls and environmental engineering qualifications is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with RCRA and TSCA regulations concerning hazardous and mixed waste management.
  • Existing Department of Energy security clearance is advantageous.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include comprehensive medical, retirement plans, and performance-based incentives.
