Job Summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, develop a plan of care, and implement and evaluate care.
  • Assist with the care of the patient during anesthesia induction and/or prepare the patient for local anesthesia.
  • Create and maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
  • Perform correct surgical preps.
  • Accurately document and report patient care.
  • Demonstrate competency for all surgical specialties and equipment.
  • Participate in staff and self-development.
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees.
  • Complete annual department competencies.
Requirements

Experience: 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. 1 year of experience as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse - preferred.

Education: Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred.

License and Certifications: Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - per SDH policy.
