Job Overview

We are seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician to deliver exceptional customer support and technical expertise within a collaborative environment. Reporting to the Field Services Manager, the Technician will be tasked with the installation and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems for a diverse clientele across the nation. This role involves a commitment to rotating shifts, significant travel, and potential overtime. Key responsibilities include:

Customer Engagement
  • Foster strong client relationships by educating and assisting customers in utilizing IRD systems.
  • Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Technical Support, Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing) to troubleshoot and resolve technical and functional challenges.
  • Deliver outstanding service by providing solutions-oriented support during all interactions.
  • Maintain thorough and precise documentation of service activities in accordance with IRD's standards, utilizing both on-site records and electronic reporting tools.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Support the installation and integration of new and replacement systems as necessary.
  • Conduct integration of roadside electronics, specialized testing, calibrations, and configuration of various software parameters.
  • Perform routine maintenance and urgent service tasks on installed systems as stipulated in service agreements.
  • Review post-installation drawings and specifications to ensure compliance and make necessary adjustments.
Safety and Quality Assurance
  • Comply with corporate safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure company vehicles are maintained in excellent condition and adhere to a regular maintenance schedule.
  • Oversee civil construction activities related to in-road and roadside installations.
  • Manage subcontractors to guarantee that installations and repairs meet IRD's quality standards.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
  • Degree, diploma, or certification in electronics technology or equivalent practical experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using basic hand tools such as grinders, drills, meters, crimping tools, screwdrivers, soldering irons, and wrenches.
  • Possession of a valid passport and willingness to travel as required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Must successfully complete a DOT Medical examination every two years.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with software and hardware applications, particularly in Linux/Unix and Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Adept at troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and system operation issues using industry-standard tools.

  • Demonstrated history of self-motivation, sound judgment, productivity, and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Self-driven with effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to lift up to 65 lbs.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
