Key Responsibilities

A Security Technician at Johnson Controls is a skilled troubleshooter and service professional with expertise in intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from various manufacturers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong verbal communication skills to assess customer needs and guide them through the necessary steps to restore system functionality. The candidate will also possess the ability to inspect these systems to ensure they operate correctly and provide detailed reports to both the customer and the company as required.

How Responsibilities Are Executed

  • Identify and resolve issues with damaged equipment or wiring.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning equipment and test for proper operation.
  • Coordinate inspections and/or installations with relevant agencies.
  • Conduct repairs and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms (if applicable).
  • Assist fellow technicians with system repairs and perform minor repairs, including battery replacements.
  • Test system operations with the customer monitoring center to ensure service connectivity.
  • Accurately complete all required forms and customer documentation.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in the low-voltage or security sector.
  • Strong knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms, including:
  • Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background and identity checks.
  • Fire Burglary CCTV Access Controls License for Oklahoma State

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Capability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely unload ladders from the company vehicle and climb ladders.
  • Commitment to safe operation of the company vehicle.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
