Your Responsibilities

A Security Technician at Johnson Controls is a problem-solver and service professional with expertise in intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from various manufacturers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to assess customer needs and explain the necessary steps to restore system functionality. They will also have the ability to inspect these systems to ensure optimal performance and provide detailed reports to clients and the company as required.

Key Duties Include

  • Identify and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment or wiring.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace non-functional equipment and verify operational status.
  • Coordinate inspections and installations with relevant authorities.
  • Conduct repairs and inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms (if applicable).
  • Assist fellow technicians with system repairs and perform minor repairs such as battery replacements.
  • Test system operations to ensure connectivity with the customer monitoring center.
  • Accurately complete all required forms and customer documentation.

Qualifications We Seek

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the low-voltage or security sector.
  • Strong knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms including:
  • Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background and identity checks.
  • Fire Burglary CCTV Access Controls License for Oklahoma State

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Capability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely unload ladders from fleet vehicles and climb ladders.
  • Commitment to safe operation of fleet vehicles.
  • Strong communication skills and a focus on excellent customer service.
