Role Overview:

A Security Systems Technician at Johnson Controls is a skilled troubleshooter and service professional with expertise in intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from various manufacturers.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication abilities to assess customer needs and explain the necessary steps to restore system functionality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and resolving issues with malfunctioning equipment or wiring.
  • Adjusting, repairing, or replacing defective equipment and conducting operational tests.
  • Coordinating inspections and installations with relevant authorities.
  • Performing repairs and inspections on security systems and fire alarms as applicable.
  • Assisting fellow technicians with repairs and executing minor maintenance tasks.
  • Testing system operations to ensure connectivity with the monitoring center.
  • Completing all required documentation accurately.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years in the low-voltage or security sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms such as Bosch, Honeywell, Firelite, and others.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass extensive background checks.
  • Relevant state licensing for security systems.

Preferred:

  • Capability to interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate a fleet vehicle and manage ladders.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
