Your Responsibilities
A Security Technician at Johnson Controls is a skilled troubleshooter and service professional with expertise in intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from various manufacturers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to assess customer needs and explain the necessary steps to restore system functionality. The candidate will also have the ability to inspect these systems to ensure optimal performance and provide written or digital reports as required.
Key Duties Include
- Identify and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment or wiring.
- Adjust, repair, or replace non-operational equipment and conduct operational tests.
- Coordinate inspections and installations with relevant agencies.
- Perform repairs and inspections on intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms (if applicable).
- Assist fellow technicians with system repairs and conduct minor repairs such as battery replacements.
- Test system operations with the customer monitoring center to ensure service connectivity.
- Accurately complete all necessary forms and customer documentation.
Qualifications We Seek
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in the low-voltage or security sector.
- Strong foundational knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms including:
- Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass comprehensive background and identity checks.
- Fire Burglary CCTV Access Controls License for Oklahoma State
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Capability to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to safely unload ladders from the fleet vehicle and climb ladders.
- Commitment to safe operation of fleet vehicles.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on excellent customer service.
