About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director to join our Commercial Banking team at Western Alliance Bank. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for executing the division's strategic plan and guiding your group in its efforts to meet the Bank's annual growth and customer retention targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the Bank's strategic plan, with a specific focus on leading the efforts to grow the Leasing portfolio.
  • Support Senior Leadership in developing and executing the Bank's strategic plan.
  • Establish the parameters for the various teams and business development officers regarding transaction pitches and negotiation of term sheets.
  • Oversee the credit structuring development process, customer assessment, and presentation to senior and divisional loan committees.
  • Manage portfolio health and the team's efforts to proactively address deteriorating loan performance, mitigating risk from market developments, complications in service delivery, and product adoption.
  • Foster strong, healthy working relationships with executive and senior leaders in partner departments, and facilitate the team's contribution to and compliance with technical processes and requirements, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Provide supervision to and direct the activities of their staff, perform supervisory tasks such as performance appraisals, corrective actions, and interviewing candidates for employment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of Lending and/or Deposit Sales, Credit Administration, or other related financial services experience.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, pricing dynamics, and market-specific awareness.
  • Strong speaking and writing skills for internal and external audiences.
