The Financial Operations Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the company's accounting functions, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, lease accounting, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations. This position also provides support for treasury management as required.

The Financial Operations Accountant reports directly to the Assistant Controller/Finance Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a brand ambassador for The Paper Store.
  • Collect and analyze data for accurate general ledger entries; uphold high standards for books and records to facilitate audits.
  • Oversee the management of fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation.
  • Assist in month-end closing processes and financial statement preparation.
  • Support treasury operations and conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations.
  • Provide analytical support as needed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in PC applications, particularly MS Excel.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
