Job Overview

The Senior Accounting Specialist is accountable for the comprehensive accounting functions of the organization, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, lease accounting, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations. This role also provides support for treasury management as required.

The Senior Accounting Specialist reports directly to the Assistant Controller/Finance Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a brand ambassador for The Paper Store.
  • Collect and analyze data for timely and precise general ledger entries; uphold the books and records to a high standard to facilitate internal or external audits.
  • Oversee the addition and disposal of fixed assets, manage monthly depreciation, and maintain all fixed asset documentation.
  • Assist with month-end closing and financial statement preparation.
  • Support treasury operations and complete bank reconciliations.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including personal property taxes and sales taxes.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as requested by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in PC applications and MS Excel.
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Ability to work on-site as required.
  • Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, and appearance.
