Family Support and Development Specialist

At Child & Family Resources, we are dedicated to providing accessible programming that helps parents be the best they can be and allows children to thrive. As a Family Support and Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the parent-child relationship, attachment, and family enhancement through child development education, play, goal setting, assessments, and coordination of services/activities for overburdened families.
Job Description
- You will conduct home visits virtually or in-person and assess family needs, providing case management services when necessary, while promoting self-sufficiency.
- You will utilize child development curriculum with each family and promote positive parent-child relationships.
- You will engage in floor time to support play within the parent and child relationship.
- You will utilize appropriate limit setting and boundaries.
- You will act as a positive role model.
- You will maintain necessary assessments and documentation in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
- You will participate in and come prepared for weekly supervision with Program Supervisor.
- You will coordinate with other community services.
- You will attend and participate in all scheduled Healthy Families conferences, seminars, in-service training, and parent events.
- You will maintain all Healthy Families quality assurance standards, including home visitation rate.
- You will participate in agency Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Requirements
- You must have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in a related field. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in social work or a related behavioral health field is preferred.
- You must be able to interact effectively with families.
- You must have knowledge in family life skills.
- You must have knowledge of infant and child development.
- You must have experience in working with at-risk children and their families.
- You must have knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural differences.
- You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- You must be able to work effectively on a family support team.
- You must have flexibility in scheduling (able to work limited nights and weekends).
- You must adhere to the schedule agreed upon with the supervisor.
- You must be willing to engage in Reflective Practice.
- An Infant Toddler Mental Health Endorsement is preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish is required.
- You must be able to provide direct service to the designated client base in the Santa Cruz area.
- You must maintain a functional and safe home working space with adequate internet connection for the job.
- You must comply with all agency and program policies and procedures, including confidentiality, employee conduct, computer usage, and dress code.
- You must meet program/department performance and productivity standards.
- You must attend required agency and program/department meetings.
- You must follow and model CFR's core values.
- You must participate in PQI initiatives.
- You must be eligible and able to obtain/maintain a Level one fingerprint card.
- You must be certified in CPR/First Aid.
- You must have a valid Arizona driver's license, Arizona vehicle registration, and meet agency and Arizona liability insurance requirements.
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this position starts at $19,100-$21,050 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and annual salary increases. This salary range is based on industry standards and may vary depending on experience and qualifications.
Ability Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances.
- Moderate twisting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties.
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced.
- Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required.
- Repeated hand-wrist movement required.
